Sovol SV07 3D Printer

I've owned this for 9 months since picking it up as a Black Friday flash deal. The price was just too good to ignore and to be honest I wasn't expecting much and fully intended to use it as a parts donor for a DIY coreXY project. Curiosity got the better of me and I decided to try it out. Assembly was a cinch and setup was very easy for someone that's already familiar with 3d printing. The included benchy file printed flawlessly on the first attempt. Print quality and speed is way beyond my expectations. At this price point there has to be compromise but Sovol have nailed my priorities on this model. Apart from the linear motion system and maybe a BL-touch style of level sensor there is not really anything left to upgrade on this printer. Oh, and there have been no updates in the time I've owned it. It would be nice to see some signs of ongoing firmware/software development from Sovol.

My only regret is not buying a second one when they were on offer.

I bought the SV07 in December 24 and have just (mid June 25) passed 3000m of used Filament on it.
Currently I have 535 Jobs, 3014m filament and 873h of print time on my SV07 and it's still printing perfectly.
Print quality is actually really good with basically perfect layer stacking. I printed about 100 miniatures with the printer and they look great. I also printed some bigger parts and they also look great. So far I have been using PLA (plus, silk, matt) and PETG and they both print perfectly if the slicer profiles are well tuned.

Now of cause this is still a fairly cheap printer from a brand that expects you to tinker with it a bit, so you will have to dial in your profiles and adjust your startup sequences and macros, but you will be able to find most of what you need on printables if you want to get a leg up. You should also inspect the printer when you get it and make sure all the belt tensions are perfect and the rollers roll as they should. All the tools you need for the printer are included.
The lack of extra features past the hardware is directly reflected in the price, so I'd actually count this as a plus.

Now the only really negative point about this is that the acceleration is lower than on some others. I print with 5000mm/s² normally and 6000mm/s² on draft but past that the Y-axis (the bed) starts to skip and produce layer shifts. The default setting of 8000mm/s² is not usable for me. I could probably use 6000mm/s² for everything, since I've not had problems with it, but I lowered it to 5k just to be save.

Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase and would absolutely buy it again. I also really like Sovol as a Company since they still care about the community and also have a very good customer service that will not leave you hanging (I had a part that was broken from shipping and after a few questions about the exact problem they send out a replacement that I got within 2 days). I hope I can afford an SV08 at some point as my experience with Sovol so far makes me feel very confident in getting a bigger printer from them.

I unpacked it, set it up watching a setup video, did the z-levelling, then bed levelling and printed a benchy boat. Looks great right away!

Moving to the SV07 from Ender 3 was a huge improvement, way less setup, better and faster prints, I did mess up the linux installation in the beginning but was able to flash a new image (!DO NOT UPDATE THE LINUX!)

The first printer came defective. I sent an email only to learn that they only respond between 9pm and 4 am. Fine I accepted that and decided since I needed the printer I would order another and simply return the defective one so I could start my project. Second printer defective and by this time I recieved an email stating they wouldn't return the product until they have reviewed the issues. Mind you they are giving me the instructions in the middle of the night to diagnosis the printer. So a week later still have 2 defective printers, no response and no refunds or away to return the printer.
