Originally, I tried to purchase a fully assembled Enclosed SV08 Max (none were available); next I tried to locate an Enclosed SV08 Max kit (available but months out); and finally I went after an SV08 Max (it was available on Amazon) and ordered the Enclosure separately (shipped from China I think but took forever). I ordered my SV08 on 2025-12-03 (I started to print on the day following the receipt of the printer to sample the parts (I made a temporary enclosure out of cardboard for test purposes)) and finally completed the Enclosure assembly 2026-01-10 and printed the first parts on the complete printer 2026-01-11.
Good machine and well built. The kits were easy to assemble after I figured out your assembly nomenclature; before I figure out the nomenclature, I used some of the wrong screws in the wrong places and ran out of some screws. The plug and play worked but it wasn't without its trauma. Several times in trying to step through the setup procedure and then the calibration procedure, I had to back track to rerun a step and it was questionable if I could actually do that without breaking something. It would have been helpful to know how far back I had to go if I had to retrace my steps to get a complete recalibration. My experience also suggests that I should know how to do a complete reset without losing the boot record (I have found that not completing a calibration step sometimes leaves garbage behind that corrupts the calibration particularly if a restart is required).
Just for reference purposes, my three largest printers are a Prusa XL, an Eryone x400, a Voron 2.4 350, and the Solvol SV08 MAX. They all preform admirably and meet most functional requirements with varying degrees of success. I make real parts for real cars and airplanes.
Single biggest complaint that I have for all these machines is the lack of documentation for the specific machines. I have been a practicing engineer for almost fifty years and the quality of the hardware and software documentation has been deteriorating exponentially since my initial collegiate graduation in 1970.
